Resources for configuring Pearl's Palette / Side Order Palette
These keyboards are similar. To tell them apart, the Pearl's Palette (v1) has visible stripes when viewed from the side. The Side Order Palette (v2) has swappable screen printouts.
- First download the layout file: pearls_palette.json or side_order_palette.json depending on which keyboard you have.
- Then visit the VIA site in a compatible browser.
- In the "Settings" tab of VIA, accessed via the gear icon, toggle the "Show design tab" slider.
- Access the "Design" tab by clicking on the paintbrush. A notice about keyboard support will be shown. Press the "Confirm" button.
- Click the "Load" button by the "Load Draft Definition" menu item. Select the .json file that you downloaded earlier.
- If the config was successfully loaded, you will be prompted to connect to your keyboard. Select the "Pearl's Palette" or "Side Order Palette" device.
- A preview of your keyboard should now be shown. You may now change to the Configure tab to make changes to your key mappings.
If the Via page gets stuck on "Loading...":
Try:
- Loading a new tab and connecting in that at the same time - errors may appear in both but it seems like it will unstick the "loading".
- Clearing browser data/opening a private tab and following all the steps above again
